FLOWMOTION - Meet the founders who raised $1.3M through Kickstarter
Meet Startup Extreme participants Lars Flesland & Didrik Dimmen in Flowmotion. They have had an amazing start through their Kickstarter campaign, where they raised $1.3M! In addition, they have been featured in Forbes, Unilad, GIGadgets and TechInsider.
Since day one, we always new our biggest markets where outside of little Norway and that we wanted to build a global company. We actually didn't launch in Norway, but globally through Kickstarter. Right now, the majority of our customers come from the US and other european countries.
#WHYWE have gotten investors
We actually have 85 investors which we got through Technoport Live Crowdfunding in March 2016. We are truly grateful that they believed in us that early on, and hopefully, they share our excitement about how much we have accomplished with FlowMotion since then.
#WHYWE want investors
We are currently planning on raising money in order to scale and launch new products. We want investors, because the right people can contribute with wisdom, expertise in relevant fields and valuable connections. We hope to find investors that believe in us as a team, as much as in the product.
#WHYWE will win the market
We have, by far, the best product in our category. We also have the necessary skill set within our team to execute new products and services. Lastly, we our building a modern brand, which is focused around customers need and our relationship with them, and we believe that that's the most important thing to succeed in the long run.
#WHYWE are an awesome team
We all want to build something cool, something great, and that team spirit, working together on complex projects day and night binds us together and creates a strong feeling of purpose. Everyone's job in FlowMotion is just as important as the next one, and we’re dependant on each other. We respect each other. We don’t just want to build a great product, but a great global company and brand, and sharing that journey together is the best feeling in the world.
#WHYWE want to join Startup Extreme
We attended Startup Extreme last year, and it was a great experience. Talking to investors and other entrepreneurs in that setting, is completely different from every other conference. Everyone's laid back, enjoying themselves, and you bond with people in a more authentic way.
#WHYWE liked to start up in Norway
I think that Norway is actually a great country to start a company in. There is a lot of engineering talent and it's a great test market for many companies. You can also apply for several governmental grants which is great in the early stages. Although there is definitely other countries where it’s better for a startup to be located in once you scale, Norway is probably one of the best countries to start a startup in.
And in the end, best tip: Hire the best people, work hard and hustle!
