What is there to do in Voss?
Voss is the extreme sports capital of Norway, but it is also known for its beautiful and exotic nature. We have a fully packed program during the festival. But if you decide to stay in Voss for a day or two after the event, check out Visit Voss for more info. For rental cars, visit Rent-A-Wreck. If you are planning on staying in Voss after the event, there are several places you can book for accommodation. As always, you can also checkout Visit Norway for more inspiration ahead of your trip.
Do I need insurance?
IMPORTANT: Getting accepted into the Startup Extreme Festival requires you to have insurance to take part in the extreme sport activities. Startup Extreme takes NO Liability for any injuries incurred during Startup Extreme 2019.
What type of extreme activity can I partake in?
You can choose ONE activity that you would like to experience with others on June 24th. You will be transported to the location of the activity where there will be an expert to guide you. More information about the various activities and prices (TBA) can be found here.
Will food be provided?
You will be able to purchase delicious food from the Ekstremsportveko Cafe. There will also be supermarkets close to the Festival Arena.
What do I need to pack?
"THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD WEATHER, ONLY BAD CLOTHING"
The main rule when dressing for Norwegian weather is—more is better. Trust us, when we say it’s better to have the option of taking off a layer than being cold. Although, it is summer, it might still get chilly and rainy.
Our recommended packing list includes:
Credit/Debit Card (we do not take cash)
Raincoat and pants
Thin windbreaker and hiking trousers (with good moisture transfer)
Fleece or thin heating jacket
Wool/wool mixture underwear
Socks with a lot of wool and good fit
Indoor clothing and shoes
Hiking boots or shoes you can be active in
Shorts and t-shirt (wool / synthetic fiber) if it is notified hot weather
Sweater and pants
Personal toiletries, medication
Small backpack for hiking
Sense of adventure
What method can I use to pay for purchases at Voss?
Card only! We do not accept cash at Voss. Please be sure to bring a card with you.

CODE OF CONDUCT
As a Startup Extreme Festival Pass holder you are expected to respect all fellow attendees regardless of their gender, race, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability or other aspects of what we look like, where we come from, and who we are.
We do not accept any kind of disrespectful or dangerous behaviour at any of our events. Startup Extreme is meant to be a 100% positive and safe experience from the beginning until the end, for all of our attendees.
DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
- Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion.
- Deliberate intimidation.
- Physical harassment.
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
- Inappropriate physical contact.
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.
